The summer season is winding down here in Florida, but you would never know it from the weather! Temps and humidity are still high and will be until December. The way we natives know that the seasons are changing is by the number of tourists at the local haunts and the school buses. Less of one and more of the other!
The bonus to Florida life is that scalloping season lasts until September first. If you have never gone hunting for scallops, it's like an underwater Easter egg hunt! I happen to be terrible at it, but I love going because who doesn't love swimming around the warm waters of Homassasa Springs and just hanging out on the boat all day? This year I found one! Everyone else was coming up with a bag of 15 to 20 scallops, but not me! That's ok. I love it anyway.
